Note to parents:

At Shazaam, we balance a lot of fun, child-led activities or input along with instructor-led learning activities. Class is more enjoyable for everyone if there is a willingness to participate. For example, learning choreography from the instructor or working in small groups to come up with choreography to share with the class. Please let your child know that the expectation if for everyone to give it a try. If a child opts out, the expectation is that they will sit up front with the instructor to watch the others dance and cheer them on.

If there are any special needs that your child has around group activities, or sensory issues, please let us know.

While we give participants lots of opportunities to provide input, ideas and suggestions, empowerment also means trying things that are new or hard at first and learning that, "yes, I can!" If parents help support our process by emphasizing this expectation, everyone benefits. Thank you.
